How do I charge my device?

The Nicovape® Q is supplied with a USB-A to USB-C cable. Simply connect to any powered USB-A port (e.g. in your laptop/computer or in your car) to recharge your device.

Starting from zero charge, the Nicovape Q will reach 80% of full charge within 25 minutes, and will be fully charged within 50 minutes.

How do I use the Nicovape® Q?

The Nicovape® Q device uses inhalation activation technology.

To begin using your device, simply inhale through the mouthpiece and the device will power up instantly. To get the best performance from your device, draw smoothly on the pod for 1 to 2 seconds into your mouth, and then inhale. Allow a minimum of 20 seconds for the pod to replenish with liquid before your next puff.

After inhalation, your device will automatically enter standby mode until your next use. There is no need to manually turn your device on or off.

What do the different LED colours mean?

The LED lights on your Nicovape® Q device can indicate a number of things:

  • During inhalation/use
    • The LED indicator will turn blue and remain blue for the duration of the inhalation
    • If the LED indicator flashes white, this means that your Q Cartridge may be empty or there may be a connection error. Try removing it and re-inserting, or replace with a new cartridge if it appears to be empty.
  • After inhalation/use
    • With more than 20% remaining charge, after each inhalation, the LED indicator will show a green light.
    • With less than 20% remaining charge, after each inhalation, the LED indicator will show an amber light, and
    • With less than 10% remaining charge, after each inhalation, the LED indicator will show a red light
      • If the LED indicator flashes red four (4) times after inhalation, your device is indicating a low battery warning. At this point, the device will shut down immediately. Recharge the device in accordance with the user guide prior to continuing use.
    • When your device is not in use, the LED indicator will remain off.
What’s in a Q Cartridge?

Liber has developed our own proprietary nicotine liquid formula which is manufactured with pharmaceutical quality ingredients in a GMP-certified facility. The nicotine liquid in your Q Cartridge is comprised of:

  • Propylene glycol (PG) –  an odourless and colourless compound that is less viscous than VG. PG carries flavour more effectively than VG, and also provides the ‘throat hit’ component of the e-liquid. Our PG is manufactured to US or European Pharmacopeia (USP/EP) grade.
  • Vegetable glycerin (VG) – a is a colourless, viscous organic compound that acts as a diluent for the nicotine and serves as a base for our flavours. VG is found in many food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical products where is is classified as a GRAS (Generally Recognised as Safe) ingredient. Our VG is manufactured to US or European Pharmacopeia (USP/EP) grade.
  • Flavours – our flavours are manufactured from molecularly defined ingredients (single chemical constituents) that are compounded into flavour concentrates and are subjected to a rigid quality verification process prior to formulation. All of our flavour compounds have undergone a Toxicological Risk Assessment (TRA) and are manufactured in an ISO cleanroom environment.
  • Nicotine salt – the active ingredient in our nicotine liquids. Our nicotine is manufactured in Switzerland under full pharmaceutical cGMP. Nicotine is not a carcinogen, and while it is not linked to cancer or cardio-vascular disease, it should be noted that nicotine is an addictive substance.
Is the Nicovape® Q waterproof?

The Nicovape® Q device is rated to IPX3, meaning that, while it will withstand a splash of water, it is not waterproof and should never be submerged in water.

Can I take my Nicovape® Q on an airplane?

The Nicovape® Q device is safe for air travel and has been designed with safety foremost in mind – complying with the international standards for lithium-ion battery safety.

In Australia, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has advised that e-cigarettes are restricted to carry-on luggage only, and must not be packed in checked luggage. If traveling overseas, contact your airline or check the list of prohibited items provided by the airline company.

Due to the pressurisation of the cabin, previously opened Q Cartridges may leak during air travel. As a suggestion, prior to air travel, opened Q Cartridges should be removed from your device and wrapped in absorbent paper for the duration of the trip.

The use and charging of e-cigarettes is not permitted onboard commercial aircraft in Australia.

How long does the battery take to charge?

Starting from zero charge, the Nicovape Q will reach 80% of full charge within 25 minutes, and will be fully charged within 50 minutes.

Please note: for your own safety you should not use your device while charging.

How long will the battery charge last?

The Nicovape Q is powered by a 420mAh lithium-ion battery which will provide a full day of use for the average user (approximately 350 puffs).

Can Q Cartridges expire?

All Nicovape Q Cartridges have an expiry date clearly printed on the blister pack. However, for an optimal experience they should be used soon after purchase.

Once opened, Q Cartridges should be used within 14 days for an optimal experience.

When not in use, Q Cartridges should be stored in a cool, dry place safely out of reach of children and pets.

Do I need to clean my device?

The Nicovape® Q device is very simple to maintain. If you experience connection issues, check the cartridge cavity (the open section of your device) and the two contact points (where your Q Cartridge connects to the device) for any debris. These can be safely cleaned out with a cotton bud.

How do I turn my device off?

The Nicovape Q device is only operational during inhalation. When your device is not being used, it’s technically ‘off’, and will not discharge or use any battery during this time.

Can I change my Q Cartridge before it’s empty?

Yes of course. Q Cartridges are leakproof and the magnetic pod locking system is designed to help you change cartridges quickly and easily at any time.

Can I open or refill my Q Cartridge?

To ensure product safety and quality, Q Cartridges are tamper-proof and are not designed to be reused or refilled. Q Cartridges are tested and calibrated for single use only, and refilling may create exposure to potentially harmful emissions.

How long does one Q Cartridge last?

Nicovape® Q Cartridges have an e-liquid capacity of 1.5ml, which is equivalent to around 350 puffs.

How do I dispose of my device/empty pods?

The Nicovape® Q device is designed to be very robust and reliable, and the lithium-ion battery is intended to provide in excess 500 cycles.

At the end of its lifecycle, your device should be treated as a consumer electronic device. Please follow the recommendations of your local city council or municipality for guidance on disposing of a lithium-ion battery.

Nicovape® Q Cartridges are made predominantly of a recyclable PCTG resin. Check with local council or municipal recycling programs to ensure the Q Cartridge is suitable for recycling in your area. As nicotine can be harmful to the environment, please rinse out your empty cartridges prior to recycling.

As an environmentally conscious company, Liber is currently working with an external partner to create a unique recycling program for Q Cartridges. We hope to make this available in the near future.
